Advance sales are already eye-watering, so it seems like Harry P and the Twilight Crew can move aside. The film has lost seven seconds of blood spatter and some general gore in order to get a PG-12 rating in the UK - which pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the plot. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, The Hunger Games is essentially the story of how a courageous young teenager manages to overcome the evil machinations of the grown ups. Small wonder that there is already talk of a franchise and profits pouring into Hollywood as fast as pubescent youngsters can shovel popcorn into their mouths.
